Featuring cinema from some of Oakland’s best Black and Brown independent filmmakers.

This year we will premiere of the new Black Panther film, “My People Are Rising” featuring Aaron Dixon, Elaine Brown, Bobby Seale & Ericka Huggins.

We will also be debuting the “My People Are Rising” soundtrack and web platform as part of our Youth Black Panther Legacy campaign.

Lastly, we will be introducing the leaders of our new Media Collecitve, UR Media. Mixer with filmmakers and producers will immediately preceed and conclude event.

In an era of stark racial injustice, Aaron Dixon dedicated his life to revolution, founding the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party in 1968 at age 19. In “My People Are Rising”, he traces the course of his own radicalization, and that of a generation as he journeys to Oakland to be trained by the Black Panther party.
