United Roots Video Report: “Jobs Not Cuts” March & Rally at Occupy Oakland
On October 15, 2011, people gathered at Laney College in Oakland, California, for a “Jobs Not Cuts” Rally organized by Rebuild the Dream and Moveon.org as part of the “We Are One” Campaign. The crowd marched through the Oakland streets to the Federal Building and ended at Occupy Oakland at the Oscar Grant Plaza (the Oakland Civic Center). Another rally closed the march, with guest speakers from Occupy Wall Street and legendary actor Danny Glover. This United Roots video report features community organizers and United Roots facilitators Lady Blue & Queen Deelah in the march and speaking at the rally.
