Gameheads program at United Roots is organizing Oakland Video Game Festival

Gameheads’ Oakland Video Game Fest is December 2nd-4th

Celebrate multiculturalism and tech at Gameheads’ Oakland Video Game Fest. The event features a game jam, bringing together aspiring game developers to plan, design and create a video game within the span of 48 hours. The event also features game design and development workshops for students and adults taught by industry professionals; exhibit booths showcasing indie games, artists and other showcases of STEAM talent from the community; a play space with curated video games; and more.

Schedule of Events

Friday, December 2
4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. – Check in and registration for Game Jam Participants at United Roots Oakland
(The Game Jam is for participants aged 15-24.)
6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Professional Mixer at Kapor Center for Social Impact
Saturday, December 3
9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. – Game Jam and workshops at Kapor Center for Social Impact
12 noon – 6 p.m. – Play Ground at United Roots Oakland

Sunday, December 4
9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Game Jam and workshops at Kapor Center for Social Impact
12 noon – 4 p.m. – Play Ground at United Roots Oakland
2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Game showcase and closing ceremonies at Kapor Center for Social Impact
