This summer United Roots partnered with Oakland Leaf for the annual Oakland Peace Camp. The camp took place at the Ascend high school from June 27 – July 15, 2011 for youth ages 12-18. The United Roots Music Director, Clemente Pena, helped facilitate the camp again this year, and two youth interns from the United Roots music program had the opportunity to get paid to assist with music instruction at the camp. This is a music video produced at the Peace Camp with United Roots staff and youth interns, featuring Necie Marie & Askara X. The video was filmed at the Oakland Peace Camp (in East Oakland at the Ascend High School) and features youth from the camp. The video was edited by youth video producer Luis Montoya.
