In August 2010 a group of East Oakland youth gathered at the United Roots Center for a Digital Storytelling training. Each youth created a short video about their experience living in East Oakland. The project was coordinated by Xiomara Castro and Maryam Roberts through the Urban Peace Movement organization (www.urbanpeacemovement.org). The project was funded by the California Endowment for the Arts.
